1. Customer Background and Requirements
Zhuhai Letong is an experienced company in the ink and coating industry. Its end customer is a leading new energy vehicle manufacturer in China.
The purpose of this cooperation was to develop a chrome coating solution for exterior door handles of new energy vehicles, featuring a high metallic appearance, high gloss, and excellent adhesion performance. The requirements for the resin used to achieve the high metallic finish effect were highly demanding, which led the customer to choose us.

- Single-component system (1K based on Chrome Effect Silver Resin)
- Dilution ratio: 1:2.5
- Baking condition: 150℃ for 30 minutes

2. Challenge: An Experienced Team That Gets It Right the First Time
After receiving the requirements, our R&D team, led by Project Engineer Luo, worked together with Engineer Li and two other team members to advance the project.
The customer provided a standard substrate, but the requirements for metallic appearance and gloss were actually a comprehensive test of formulation design, aluminum pigment orientation, and resin system optimization.
Our approach was:
Not to develop a “acceptable” sample, but to design directly according to the customer’s actual production conditions.
After formulation evaluation and laboratory trials, the team determined the optimal resin system and aluminum pigment combination, and conducted chrome coating performance verification strictly according to the customer’s application process (1:2.5 dilution ratio, 150℃ × 30min baking).

The technical team from Letong stated:

2. Project Progress and Future Cooperation
The product has completed sample confirmation, and the customer officially placed a 25kg pilot production order this Monday to enter the production line validation stage.
The project team has simultaneously followed up on the pilot batch production and quality control plan to ensure a smooth transition from sample development to mass production.
For automotive component customers, being able to complete technical confirmation and move directly into the pilot production stage after only 1 sample trial demonstrates precise communication between both technical teams, accurate formulation design, and predictable mass production stability.
